The St. St. Constantine and Helena monastery is situated in the heart of the St. St. Konstantin and Elena sea resort near Varna (8km. to the north of the city). In fact, Konstantin and Elena is the oldest sea resort in Bulgaria, which was built in 1908 around the monastery.
The monastery is far older than the surrounding resort with its existence of more than 5 centuries. The first cloister on the place of the present day monastery was built in the 16th century next to a holy spring, but it was destroyed during the Russian-Turkish War.
