Kosti is a small village, situated 25км away from the seaside town of Tsarevo. It lies in the heart of the Strandja Mountain. Nearby the village, naturelovers can visit the oldest natural reserve in Bulgaria – Silkosia, which is currently declared a biosphere reserve.
Kosti is famous for its ''nestinarski'' dances, performed by so-called ''nestinari'' who dance bare-footed on burning coals. Orignally, the nestinari were women-prophets, born only in the region of Strandja, who entered the burning coals in a trance during the big religious holiday of Our Lady (Bogoroditsa) on August 15.
