Sea Tourism: Obrochishte

The village of Obrochishte lies 15km to the southwest of Balchik and 6-7km to the west of the Albena seaside resort. It spreads over the left bank of the Batova river.
Nearby the village, archeologists have discovered remains of an old Muslim tomb and a hostel for travellers. The tomb is well-preserved and believed to host a Turkish saint. The hostel dates back to the 16th c., when Sulleyman II ruled the Ottoman Empire.
A large part of the Baltata nature reserve (else called Batova Gora) is included within the boundaries of the village’s adjacent lands. The reserve hosts the most northern and best preserved longose (i.e. tropical-type) forest in Bulgaria.
