
Pavel Banya is a small town with population of some 4,000 people, located in the Kazanluk valley on the banks of the Tundzha river. It lies to the east of the famous Rose Valley and just 4km away from the Bourgas-Sofia motorway. Its distance to Sofia is 185km.
Pavel Banya is one of the most prestigious spa and rehabilitation centres in Bulgaria. The mineral water treasury of Pavel Banya was already known to the Romans, as remains of a Roman bath testify to. At present, the mineral water springs from 7 fountains of similar mineral content and temperature not exceeding 630 C.
The mineral water of Pavel Banya has been successfully used for treatment of joint inflammations and disorders, chronic rheumatism, infectious arthritis, oste-arthrosis, the Behterev syndrome, inflammation of the tendon, post-traumatic, post-fracture or orthopedic conditions, etc. Treatment has been particularly effective for spine problems and illnesses of the central and peripheral nervous system, including disc hernia and disc pathic conditions of all kinds.
The resort hosts a big rehabilitation centre with capacity of more than 500 beds and modern equipment, as well as many other spa facilities. Besides, Pavel Banya also has a big park spreading over 200 hectares, and an open-air pool and sports complex.
