Just 10km to the north of Varna and in walking distance from the St. St. Konstantin and Elena resort, holidaymakers can take advantage of the luxurious tourist base of the Sunny Day holiday complex (Slanchev Den in Bulgarian). The resort combines well-preserved nature - a natural park, a kilometer-long beech in a small quiet bay and two mineral springs – with modern recreation, entertainment and sports facilities.
Queen Eleonora was the first to notice the favourable natural conditions of the place in 1909. Upon her initiaive, a sanatorium for children suffering from joint tuberculosis, was built there. Gradually, it started to welcome holiday makers as well. The complex grew into a true modern resort after its privatisation in 1999.
At present, Sunny Day avails of 4 hotels of different category with combined capacity of 1,254 beds. These are the 5-star Palace hotel (the capacity of which was recently upgraded from 272 to 306 beds following thorough renovation), two 4-star hotels, Marina (171 rooms and 16 suites) and Mirage (126 rooms, 14 studios and 42 suites) and one 3-star hotel, Veronica.
