The village of Vezenkovo is situated 18km to the north of the town of Sungurlare, some 25km to the southeast of the town of Kotel and 90km away from Bourgas. It lies at some 540m. above sea level in the eastern part of the Balkan Mountain. The combination of a mountainous landscape with the nearby Luda Kamchiya River offers opportunities for hunting, fishing, and hiking. The proximity to the sea is another advantage of the area. The village has several small family hotels that offer accommodation.
In the past, the village was named Kadur Fakli, which translated from Turkish means “Bright Village”. Following the country’s liberation from Turkish rule, it was renamed into Vezenkovo.
