Hotel Belmont by Ian Callan on 12 Sep 2007, 20:22 Never ever again! We stayed a week at the Belmont and we just felt like they wanted our money at every turn. We stayed half board and they tried to charge us for things that were included in the package. We got onto the rep who half sorted things out. eg: tried charging us 10 for a pool cap while the locals used the pool without one. Food was cold most of the time with only a small selection. Mostly local dishs or German sasuage based.
Staff would not look out of place in a prison as they were as friendly as gaurd dogs. Prices in the hotel were crazy. Both in the small shop and Bar. The only time we felt it was a holiday was when we left the hotel. One couple were charged 10 for a hand towel they misplaced before we left the hotel and I had the misfortune of having an accident on the quad bikes they rent. I needed 4 stitchs to my chin and was badly brused after I fell from the bike. I had no problems with this as I put it down to a good story to tell when I got home. I was informed the following day at reception that I now owed for the damage to the bike as they had no insurence! before we took the bikes out (with a member of the hotel staff) we were ASKED if we would like to ware helmets. The resort is good fun and the taxis are a rip off but the Belmont takes the biskit. Never ever again. Ian
