Arab envoys to Bulgaria believe there are double standards applied to investors in this country.
Ambassadors of Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Libya and Syria gathered Saturday at a traditional meeting in Gabrovo, central north Bulgaria, attended also by Bulgarian regional and local officials.
Iraqi Ambassador Hayder al-Barrak said Arab investors are not eased in coming to invest here, which ultimately makes them move to France and Italy.
Arab business is keen on making long-term investments in Bulgaria, he was positive adding they wish to restore as active relations as they were in the 70s and 80s of the previous century.
As a step closer to making this real, there are plans to organise an Arab-Bulgarian business week, the Iraqi diplomat announced.
Al-Barrak specified Iraq is interested in Bulgaria-made energy production sub-stations, hydro-pumps, foodstuffs and cigarettes.
Libya eyes potential fields of cooperation in tourism, real estate and light industry, while Morocco is interested in Bulgaria's agriculture and forestry sectors, it also emerged in Gabrovo.
