Sightseeing tours with a double-decker bus are the newest tourist attraction in Bulgaria's medieval capital of Veliko Turnovo in the central north part of the country.
The second floor of the bus is open, and offers a perfect view of the sights of the city during a tour, which can last between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the exact route.
The tours usually include the downtown of the city, the Tzarevetz Fortress, and the architectural reserve of Arbanasi.
Up to 80 persons can go on one tour with the double-decker bus for the price of BGN 200. The bus is 4,2 m high, and costs BGN 50 000.
It was imported from Germany, and is the second such tourist bus in Bulgaria as one has been operating for several months in the capital Sofia.
During the winter, the second floor of the bus will be equipped with a transparent ceiling. The tourist vehicle is completely safe.
