Vratsa is a town situated at the foot of Vratsa Mountain, famous for its ancient history and beautiful nature. Legend has it that the town's name (Vratsata) dates back to 16th century when a big rock gate surrounded the town and was the only entrance to it.
The region is famous for its beautiful nature and Ledenika cave. Ledenika is a cave in Vratsa Mountain and is situated 16 km west of Vratsa.
The cave is approximately 300-meter long, with 10 halls, ornate with stalactites, stalagmites, rock draperies and waterfalls. Ledenika is the most frequently visited Bulgarian cave.
The town has a rich cultural history as well.
There is a Historical as well as Folk museum and many other places to visit.
