The ROSE, being the symbol of beauty and youth, at the same time known as the Queen of Flowers, has attracted people since ancient times. In 1903, the citizens of the small town of Kazanluk organized for the first time a Festival of Roses, dedicated to flowers, beauty and grace. The Rose Festival in the Rose Valley has come to be a symbolic reflection of the lifestyle, the spirit and the cultural patterns, typical for Kazanluk region. Thus, like Brazil has its Carnival, Germany - the Beer Festival, Holland - the Tulip Festival, Bulgaria has too a Festival of its own, which is namely The Rose Festival in Kazanluk.
Although the Valley of Roses doesn't exist as a geographical notion, the aroma exhaling from the rose plantations and the rose essence distilled all around, has given this valley huddled between the mountains, the great renown of its "rose" name. The rose has an important role in the history of Kazanlak region and is an unchangeable part of the life style of the local people. The rose cultivation and rose industry have been kept by generations of enterprising people from the valley. As a capital of the rose - growing region, Kazanlak hosts the annual Festival of Roses , always the first week of June. This festival was held for first time in 1903 and was dedicated to the beauty and charity. Nowadays the festival is a celebration of the beauty in the unique Valley of the Roses and one of the most attractive happenings both for local people and the visitors. The festival programme includes the coronation of Queen Rose, the traditional rose-picking ritual and rose-distillation that gives you a true feeling of authenticity.
The Festival ends with a street procession in which the main role is allotted for the participants of the International Folklore Festival that has been hold parallel to the Festival of Roses .

Breakfast. Morning city tour of the capital. Departure for Kazanluk. Accommodation in 3* hotel in the surroundings of Kazanlak. In the afternoon lessons in Bulgarian folk dancing with professional choreographer. Dinner in Kazanlak. 21:00 Official opening of the Rose Festival.

3rd June
|
Breakfast. Visit the first Bulgarian cosmetic factory for rose products. Demonstration of the process. Gifts for all visitors. At noon visit the Thracian Tomb "Ostrusha".
Barbeque lunch. In the afternoon - Eastern Orthodox concert at Shipka memorial church. Dinner with folklore performance.

Breakfast. Early morning breakfast and departure for Rose gathering in the fields.
See rose distillation. Tasting of different rose products. Carnival procession in Kazanlak.
Gala lunch. In the afternoon departure to Sofia. Accommodation in 3* hotel.

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and departure.
